Abstract

In this work, continuous wave ground-penetrating radar (CW-GPR) has been used for detecting the soil water content in context to farm management. It is here speculated that CW-GPR utilized to observe variations in Soil parameters in different geographical area where traditional methods fails such as reflection-based GPR method. An experiment was performed on different farms in and around Mumbai city locality in a 20 * 14 m section of natural grassland at the SAMEER- IIT BOMBAY Research Facility in Mumbai city, INDIA. Two survey methods such as velocity analysis and GPR reflection surveys of ground wave were inefficient at the experiment site due to the signal attenuation which is related with the clay-rich soil. CW-GPR data sets were collected on regular and daily basis during a 5-d period in February 2017. The samples of soil were collected for analysis purpose from the mentioned geographical area. The clear response has been observed for early time signal amplitude to changes in soil water content using CW-GPR data. The strong correlation has been observed between the GPR data sets with Soil water content, which is uniform with the CW-GPR dependence on relative permittivity. The outcome reveals that the CW-GPR method can be utilized to acquire spatially distributed information on subsurface moisture content in clay-rich soils.

Abstract

This project is about to develop an airship based on small size remotely controlled by human. The airship is one of Unmanned Airship Vehicle (UAV) which is can be apply in advertising, VIP security inspection, traffic monitoring and management and so on. The main purpose of this project is to design and develop an autonomous UAV airship for indoor surveillance and monitoring applications. The image will be captured from wireless camera where it mounted at a bottom of gondola. To determine the centroid points of the object are implemented in three phase edge detector, canny operator and threshold. The object will be display on Graphical User Interface (GUI) in 2D coordinated. In this project the systems able to detect only one object at one time.

Abstract

There are a plenty of unexploited resources that lies underwater that covers almost 75% of the earth.In order to utilise them,the field of underwater wireless sensor networks (UWSN) is attracting the  researchers to extend their thoughts in this field. The wireless sensor networks are heavy networks that consist of small low cost sensors that have a large amount of solving ability and energy resources which can be applicable in any type of irregular environments irrespective of changing conditions. Keeping in view of the real-time remote data transferring requirements, underwater acoustic sensor networks (UASN) has been recognised as a preferred network because it satisfies all aspects of data transfer. In UASN, the required availability and recycling of energy resources along with specified utilisation of data with the help of utilized sensor nodes for energy requirements that are necessary are done for the development of  further theories in these contexts. Due to these causes, the maximum underwater resources utilisation techniques mainly depends on UAN (Underwater Acoustic Networks).Underwater wireless sensor networks (UWSNs) suitable for applications on submarine detection and monitoring,where nodes collect data with a mobile autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) via optical communications, and applied accordingly to deal with further approaches. They provide continuous monitoring for various applications like ocean sampling network, pollution monitoring, submarine detection, disaster prevention etc.This paper particularly deals with a brief collection of the UWSN applications and some of the algorithms for the path finding in order to pass  maximum valued information(VOI) among the different nodes.

Abstract

software engineering is a principle role of our activity in social and economic life. Software engineers are starting to comprehend the significance of designing sustainability regarding software processes. The field of sustainable and green software and green software engineering is still young. Thus, in modern society, researches effort is mainly focused on green and sustainable software engineering itself. In other words, the aim of this study at hand aims an in-depth understanding of the related potential factors for the purpose of improving the recently reluctant trend of sustainability dimension in green software based on life cycle of green software product process. To reach this purpose, this study is reviewed latest research and used conceptual model. A conceptual model is rendered demonstrating the consolidated life cycles of sustainable product and principle sustainable measurement dimensions, for example, energy or information efficiency, low cost, Resource efficiency, Waste reduction, Equality support and human health.

Abstract

Image processing is known as the process of converting an image into a digital form so as to obtain an enhanced image and to extract useful information from it. This paper presents a simple step by step analysis of edges-based lane detection. Some of the known and common edge detection techniques such as Sobel, Canny, Prewitt and Roberts were studied and evaluated using image segmentation, morphology, image statistic and Hough Transform. The result indicated some similarities in the process as well as major differences. These differences were observed to be as a result of the high sensitivity of the edge detector in detecting noise such as cast shadows and unmarked lanes. This could be noticed in the case of canny edge detector. Also these data could be considered in the development of a multi-system edge detector, which could be used to analyze various road scenes and runs the appropriate edge detector best suited for the current situation.

Abstract

Texture is a possession that represents the facade and arrangement of an image. Image textures are intricate ocular patterns serene of entities or regions with sub-patterns with the kind of brightness, color, outline, dimension, and etc.This article proposes a new method for texture characterization by using statistical methods (TCUSM). In this proposed method (TCUSM) the features are obtained from energy, entropy, contrast and homogeneity. In an image, each one pixel is enclosed by 8 nearest pixels. The confined in turn for a pixel can be extracted from a neighbourhood of 3x3 pixels, which represents the fewest absolute unit. We used four vector angles 0, 45, 90,135 to carry out the experimentation with the query image. A total of 16 texture values are calculated per unit. Compute the feature vectors for the query image by calculating texture unit and the resultant value is compared with the image database. The retrieval result shows that the performance using Canberra distance has achieved higher performance.

Abstract

A model of artificial neural networks (ANNs) is presented in this paper to predict aftershock during the next five days after an earthquake occurrence in selected cluster of Indonesia with magnitude equal or larger than given threshold. The data were obtained from Indonesian Agency for Meteorological, Climatological and Geophysics (BMKG) and United States Geological Survey’s (USGS). Six clusters was an optimal number of cluster base-on cluster analysis implementing Valley Tracing and Hill Climbing algorithm, while Hierarchical K-means was applied for datasets clustering. A quality evaluation was then conducted to measure the proposed model performance for two different thresholds. The experimental result shows that the model gave better performance for predicting an aftershock occurrence that equal or larger than 6 Richter’s scale magnitude.
